The East Rockaway High School Music Department is pleased to announce the selection of violinist Cindy Reyes and saxophonist Justin Tricarico to the 2006 New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Conference All-State Music Festival.

Approximately 7,000 students across New York State auditioned for All-State honors at this past spring’s NYSSMA Solo Festivals. Cindy will represent ERHS as a member of an elite group of approximately 70 outstanding high school junior and senior musicians chosen statewide to participate in the string orchestra. Justin will represent our school as a member of approximately 60 outstanding high school junior and senior musicians chosen statewide to participate in the elite Wind Ensemble.

Selection to a NYSSMA Conference All-State performing group is the highest honor attainable by a high school musician in New York State. This year’s All-State groups will perform at the 71st Annual NYSSMA Winter Conference to be held at Rochester, New York, from November 30th - December 3, 2006.
